Curong
2018 Curlin / Giant Review
Curong is one of our Racing to Rescue horses, and his story reflects just how quickly a horse can slip through the cracks of the racing world. After leaving American racing, he found himself in Puerto Rico, competing while carrying injuries that left him with little hope for a safe future. When a good samaritan alerted us to his condition, Resolute immediately stepped in. He was booked on the next available trip home and arrived at our farm after completing quarantine in December 2024.
A full veterinary evaluation revealed bowed tendons in both front legs and fractures in both front splint bones. While not a death sentence, the injuries meant Curong faced a long road to recovery before he could simply live comfortably again.
Today, we’re thrilled to share that Curong is doing well. Though some of his limitations will remain lifelong, he is comfortable, content, and thoroughly adored. He enjoys relaxed walks around the farm and is pampered daily in our Pony Barn—exactly the gentle life he deserves.
